what is Language Arts?

Mastery of a language is a precondition for gaining access to the wealth of shared knowledge and ideas. This in turn, is a necessary condition upon which we can then begin to develop our minds with the aim of becoming well-informed individual who are able to formulate critical perspectives on issues that are of concern to us as members of societies, and to humanity at large.

The above conception , underlines the basic tenets of our Language Arts programme here at Learners' Lodge.

We strive to achieve the following with our Language Arts students:

• Acquire the ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively in both speech and writing
• Acquire an appreciation of the beauty and utility of the English language as it used in different contexts
• Develop an understanding and awareness of the implications of the use of language
• Develop the content knowledge and skills necessary for effective participation in discourse on selected issues of concern to contemporary societies
• Develop metacognitive awareness in order to become more effective and independent learners
• Develop a love for the English language

• The most important feature of any tuition centre is its teaching staff.
