Thanks Mr Koh Chee Wee for the last 2 years! Each lesson every Friday night has been a blast with you. Learning new economics concepts and participating in class discussions has really helped me grow so much as a person. What has always struck me is how you are willing to go the extra mile for your students. Whether it be staying back till 10pm+ to clarify any questions we have, to answering our last-minute Whatsapp questions thoroughly and clearly, one day before our exams, to scheduling free one-on-one consultations for us or helping us to mark all those extra essays while providing thorough comments, I am really thankful for how you have helped me throughout my A level journey.
I always manage to learn so much from your lessons. What I especially like is how when we suggest a response to an essay question, you are able to take our response, make it more precise and inject economic reasoning. This (1) helps me in answering the question during exams, without teachers complaining that it sounds like a GP essay, and perhaps even more importantly (2) helps me modify my thought process, allowing me to integrate the economic concepts into my thinking framework, and think with more clarity and precision.
Your encouraging class participation has also made me infinitely more well-versed in Econs concepts and thinking, helping me to practice thinking quickly and under pressure, which helps in examination situations. While some might find class participation daunting, I think the way you encourage class participation — always paying attention to what we say, whether soft or loud, whether illogical or logical and how you never scold us for wrong answers, makes class participation much more natural and fun for introverted students like me.
Your level of understanding of the H2 Econs syllabus is also really insane, and how you can challenge the factuality of what we gloss over in our notes, or how you can pull out answers to essay questions from random topics we suggest, or how you know which schools want what formats of answering never fail to amaze.
Lastly, thank you for taking the time to bond with us. Eating supper with us, making small talk with us during breaks, and after lessons, has made me really grateful that I have gotten to meet you as a teacher. Looking forward to the upcoming lunch!
So thank you so much for the last 2 years. I’ve managed to learn so much from you while looking forward to each and every class. Hope we keep in touch!
