Confident, efficient and knowledgeable – these describe Mr Gilbert Lee especially well when he delivers his lessons. His clear explanations of Economic concepts more than compensate for the occasional lacklustre lecturing in school. In fact, it is quite amusing to see him point out conceptual errors present even in our own school’s teaching. On a separate note, his imparting of essay skills such as essay structures and writing techniques have allowed me an edge over my peers (discounting the large number of DHS students who attend his lessons), and have allowed for a noticeable improvement in my grades (though unfair marking has certainly pulled its stature down). Seeing that my teaching of these skills to a friend of mine has pulled his grades from a fail to an A, these essay skills have certainly been proven to work – provided one is willing to learn.

Being under Ms Nah Seok Ling 1 month before the start of A levels for H1 econs helped me to get a 4 to 5 – grade jump. Ms Nah is very nice. Whatever Ms Nah taught was clear and concise and she would explicitly point out what key points must be written for every type of question (eg. Market Failure). Thank you Ms Nah!

Dear Ms Ruby Ng,
Thank you for always being so encouraging towards us. You were my greatest source of motivation to persevere while I was studying for my A Levels Math, because of all the effort you put into teaching us. Thank you for seeing our potential and being confident in our abilities even though we often doubt ourselves. To me, you are the best Math teacher one could ever ask for and I appreciate you vv much!! <3

In all honesty, I stepped into Mr Aw Meng How’s class not knowing what to expect given the abstract nature of the GP subject. I thought my lessons will be structured and rigid, but Mr Aw is a master at weaving in windows of opportunity to stimulate discussions among us regarding various topics such as world affairs and issues close to our homeland, further widening our global perception. To add on, Mr Aw’s content notes for both P1 and P2, as well as his skills package for P2 are a lifesaver. They are informative and concise, every word keen to the eye because they held the key to scoring well at the exam. His notes, coupled with his loud voice constantly reminding us of the crucial skillset required of us to ace the GP examination, drilled into me as I picked up my pen to piece together my answers on that dreadful date of 8th November 2021. I am grateful for Mr Aw, not only for his patience and guidance as I worked to exceed expectations and clinch an A for GP, but also for his efforts as seen in his compilation of useful tips to try out during the exam as if he was there with us, cheering us on. My time in Mr Aw’s class may have been short, but it is definitely fruitful and for that, I really thank him for giving his best every lesson to make my tuition journey with Learner’s Lodge a bittersweet memory.

To Mr Daniel Yeo, you teach physics in a way that is engaging and interesting, which made me enjoy the subject and understand it well. It is with your clear explanations, concise notes and summary sheets that I managed to score for physics. Thank you for always being so dedicated to help every student in class and making sure that everyone is on the same page, even with the difficulty of teaching through zoom. I really appreciate your help in my A Level journey!

Dear Mr Koh Chee Wee,
thank you for being the most patient and genuine tutor I’ve had thus far! from giving 1-1 consults, extra lessons leading up to As and to entertaining an inflow of texts and questions from your students, you’ve always gone the extra mile for us :) you’ve really been of great help, thank you for helping us realise our potential to conquer As with greater confidence. couldn’t have done it without your help!!! you’ve taught my cousin and my sister and now me, needless to say, my cousin and sister were really right when they said joining your lessons would be of great help :)

Thank you Mr Gilbert Lee for helping to go through all the concepts for macro and micro econs so clearly and for teaching us how to properly structure our essays and paragraphs. The method thought to identify the question type before using a specific structure was useful and the going through of essay questions was really helpful throughout my journey. The materials provided were also really sufficient and succinct and even though there were online lessons it was still engaging and easy to follow.

Two years of attending Mr Koh Chee Wee’s economics classes have been nothing short of amazing. His friendly teaching style allows him to quickly form a rapport with his students which thus facilitates engagement in the classroom. More importantly, Mr Koh’s notes are meticulously designed in a way that makes concepts easy to understand and the model essays provided gives us a better idea on how to formulate our answers. He often goes out of his way to help us outside of the classroom whether be it answering our questions on whatsapp or marking additional essays nearing exam period. Having attended his classes for nearly two years, I can see how my economics grades have gradually improved and i have thoroughly enjoyed econs lessons despite not liking the subject. Thank you Mr Koh!!

Hello Mr Gilbert Lee! Thank you so much for the past 1+ years of guidance and support. H2 Economics used to be a dreaded subject for me but it soon became my favourite subject after joining tuition. Thank you for making such a daunting subject so enjoyable to learn, and for breaking down complex concepts into digestible terms! Thank you for also entertaining (and encouraging) questions in class that make lessons lively and never boring :-) I am thankful for a teacher who genuinely believes in helping each student improve by inspiring us to appreciate the subject beyond the textbook :)
