Whenever I think of Mr Koh Chee Wee, I think of a passionate educator that truly understands both the minds of students and the requirements of the economics syllabus. With his many years of experience, Mr Koh is able to effectively translate complex concepts of the economics syllabus into easily digestible information that are very applicable for the examinations.
Mr Koh’s lessons are highly productive filled with many elements of fun. He imparts us with many critical techniques and skills that are constantly applied in every question. He is extremely patient in guiding us in our learning and is always open to our unlimited questions such that we as students are able to comfortably grasp concepts regardless of our learning paces and abilities. Mr Koh puts in the extra effort to create additional notes, provide consultations and extra classes so as to maximise the learning of his students too.
Apart from academics, Mr Koh genuinely cares for the welfare of his students. He watches over all his students’ mental and physical well being with great concern. Having the privilege of being one of his students has not only ignited my passion for economics, but also taught me the importance of our human character.
Mr Koh has indubitably impacted the lives of all his students. The A level examinations is no simple task. It is a draining marathon that Mr Koh has guided so many students through. He is the pillar of strength for us to persevere on. He gives us hope when we are disheartened by setbacks. He will always believe in us even when we have lost faith in ourselves. Gratitude is all I have for this astounding educator. Thank you Mr Koh.

I am really grateful to have attended lessons from Mr Koh Chee Wee! He really is a great teacher, allowing his students to fully grasp economic concepts before moving on to the next. With economics being quite a new and foreign subject upon entering JC, he made sure to apply it in terms of real-life contexts, which really strengthened my foundation. His teaching was pivotal in my economics grades as I improved significantly from JC 1 to JC 2. Aside from lesson time, Mr Koh still made the effort to mark my essays that I sent in every week, giving me valuable feedback and comments to help me improve. I really am grateful to Mr Koh for all the time he made for me! Eventually, I made a big jump in my grades and achieved an A during the A levels, all thanks to Mr Koh! Thank you once again :”

In J1, I constantly scored an S for Econs and strongly disliked the subject. I dreaded the idea of coming to tuition for econs and believed that nothing I did would help me improve. However, Mr Koh Chee Wee quickly changed my opinion of that. He was an extremely encouraging teacher and would be patient in explaining concepts, also making sure to inject fun into his classes so that it was never boring. He would always take his time to explain to me what went wrong and what I could do to improve and would be prompt in responding to questions I had or extra material I wanted him to look through. I found myself looking forward to attending his classes, and went home with a deeper understanding of concepts that were once foreign to me. He also managed to help me catch up on J1 concepts that I was far behind on, and also definitely believed in me more than I did myself, considering how I was decently surprised by the grade I managed to attain for A Levels! I’m extremely grateful to have had Mr Koh as my econs teacher, and really don’t think I would have been able to see such a big improvement in my econs grade otherwise. He is definitely one of the best and most caring teachers I’ve ever had, and I believe that any student who comes under his care would be very fortunate. Thank you Mr Koh! :)

Mr Koh Chee Wee is a very jovial and easy-going tutor, who will not hesitate to answer questions posed by his students. His lessons are very enjoyable and engaging, and I was able to effectively take away important content from his lessons. He knows when to be serious and actively ensures we understand what is being taught. Even during the circuit breaker when lessons moved online, he was willing to stay back after lessons to clarify our doubts. Thanks to Mr Koh, my Economics grade jumped from U in the JC2 Block tests to A in the A level examinations. Thank you Mr Koh!

Dear Mr Koh Chee Wee,
Thank you for all that you have done for us. Going above and beyond with the extra lessons and messages, I know that you will continue to provide the best lessons for your students in the future. Even though Covid has neutered some of the natural class dynamic, your ability to keep us somewhat engaged even over the internet is a skill that is hard to come by. I wish you all the best for your future endeavours. Thank you for the 2 years.

Hi Mr Phay Teik Eng, thanks for helping me in my Econs journey! I initially struggled with it in J1, but your patience and guidance has helped me a lot. I’ve not only done better in my scores, but also deepened my understanding of the subject and developed an interest in it. Your teaching style has made my learning experience during class more interesting and engaging! Thanks for always making lessons enjoyable, and always motivating us to do better :)

Hi Mr Mike Wang,
As you have heard, the 2020 A level results are out, and I hope I’ve done you proud.
It was a very tough journey indeed, especially in H2 Chem as we all know that the trend is leaning more towards application, rather than just memorising and vomiting out whatever we memorised. However, I did not get defeated by the visceral fear, for you were there for all of us, being our confidence booster.
I recalled myself taking the Chem paper (especially paper 2), and the application was really weird to me. I could not grasp the concept they want, and i started panicking as time started to tick away. Seeing how the minutes had gone by one by one, I repeatedly told myself to calm down, and to move on to other questions first. I remembered you once told us to think about the basics, the small tricks that you had taught us, and thankfully, other questions were fine. To be honest, I was very disheartened after chemistry paper 2, as I felt that my A grade was gone. Even B grade felt like a far away dream, and it nearly affected my math paper the following day. Despite that, I picked myself up, and tried my best to be confident for paper 3, as I knew that organic Chem was my strength.
Remembering the way you taught us on how to identify whether the lone pair of electrons in nitrogen is involved in hybridisation (which I still rem till today 😂) and then teaching it to my classmates, looking at their mind-blown faces was a reminder that whatever you taught me, was still in me. Countless of small tactics and interesting ways to remember important information that you taught us was what gave me back the confidence that I will and can do well in my next paper. Fortunately enough, paper 3 was pretty decent (although I had a few calculation careless mistakes, but my organic was well done). For this particular paper, I recalled what you taught us about spotting patterns in elucidation. And there it was, right in front of my eyes, an application-based elucidation, which I managed to solve it confidently. It wouldn’t have been possible without your help.
Now that I reflect upon my two years in your lessons, they really helped me in overcoming this huge hurdle in JC. I can never emphasise enough how I came in with a U grade grade and jumping to a B grade in 4-5 months time, which you had played a big role. Your lessons are inspiring and fun, and I could feel your love and passion for chemistry. On the big day, upon seeing an A grade for my H2 Chem, I was more than just delighted. I was over the moon, and feeling so thankful that my hard work did not go to waste, and that I did not let you down. I have always loved chemistry, and your passion in teaching this subject just seemed to make it grow stronger. I hope that you will continue to stay passionate in this subject and inspiring many generations to come, being THEIR confidence booster and making a change in their lives.
Thank you and Happy Chinese New Year Mr Wang.
Yours sincerely,
Celeste Ho

Thank you so much Mr Fung Jia Pei for helping me get my A for H2 Economics! I honestly learnt so much from your classes with numerous extra practices and useful out-of-syllabus knowledge. The lessons you gave were very insightful and engaging, and the effort you put into marking all our extra assignments, offering free consultations and even extending our classes so that you can answer all our questions is very much appreciated!

Mr Daniel Yeo is a very caring teacher who inspires each and every student to better understand and appreciate the subject. Mr. Yeo is more than willing to cater to the students, especially If they are not as strong as the others about the subject. Mr. Yeo is able to answer any question as soon as possible when asked a question outside of class.
