Mr Koh teaches Econs in a unique way, as he combines his wealth of experience in how to tackle the ‘standard’ questions of ‘A’ Level economics together with real-world situations. As Econs is a rather ‘dry’ subject, he tries to bring in real-world examples as much as possible, and this truly helps us students in appreciating the relevance of Economics concepts. Not only does he teach us how to score for Econs, he also cultivates an interest in the subject among his students; a feat only achievable by an extraordinary teacher. Thanks, Mr Koh for being such an extraordinary teacher and always going out of your way in helping us, ensuring that all of us can follow the lesson.

Thank you, Mr Mike Wang, for all the really fun lessons and support that you gave to us for this two years- you always went out of your way, answering our questions over text, meeting us before and after lessons etc etc. Your way of teaching really helped simplify Chemistry into something I could take on with confidence, so thank you very much!! wishing you all the best for 2018. :–)

Mr Daniel Yeo is a cheerful and very caring teacher who is able to make personalised teaching even in a group lesson. Having taught for many years his experience and encounters with many different kinds of students have helped hone his teaching abilities. Mr Yeo constantly updates himself with new A-levels content making him a truly A-level specialist. Mr Yeo is a very kind teacher who never resorts to scolding to maintain class order or get one to study. Instead, the quality of teaching and promise of better results motivates the student to listen attentively. Mr Yeo’s concise notes and ample practice has allowed me to survive school exams with ease even without listening in school lectures. He is an understanding teacher who can push a weak student to his greatest potential and a strong student to continue scoring. It was definitely a fun and essential learning experience which I will miss.

Mr Gilbert Lee conducts his lessons in a way that cultivates interest in the subject and allows students to not only know but understand the content. He makes sure that his students know beyond the A-level syllabus so that we have a more holistic understanding of a concept. Besides content, he also focuses on exam skills and techniques. Most importantly, he teaches his students important life lessons & guides them to open their minds to thinking beyond examinations. Thank you, Mr Lee, for having such a huge impact on my JC journey :)

Dear Mr Koh,
Would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to my teacher for Econs in J2 Mr Koh. Throughout the year Mr Koh was extremely supportive as a teacher and also highly effective in his pedagogical skills. He refused to neglect even the smallest detail in all our elaborations and explanations, ensuring that our responses were fully comprehensive and rigorous so as to help us achieve the L2 for explanation. He would also add in insightful evaluative points to nuance our responses, which is highly essential for us to achieve an L3 answer. Coupled by his thorough knowledge of the Singapore and global economy, his evaluative points were always easy to understand and succinct to convey, which proved to be extremely useful for a time-tight exam subject like Econs. His case study teaching was also very useful — we were taught the correct answering skills consistently throughout the year be it answering the lower marks short responses questions or the questions that required us to give evaluative points and a nuanced conclusion. We were taught how to structure our answers effectively and score the most marks while not wasting too much time on each question. Most importantly, his thick model essay package he gave us halfway through the year proved to be very useful in our last minute preparation — that proved to be my Econs “bible” nearing exams as I would just take the essays and memorise all the explanations, allowing myself to reproduce answers of such high quality during the exam. The essay package is something that really helped all his students, giving us wide exposure to various types of essay questions and sufficient depth at the same time. He also knew how to effectively strategize his time during his lessons — when he was short of time he prioritized exposure to a variety of questions as more important, leaving the nitty-gritty to us to settle in our free time. The thing I appreciated the most about him was his willingness to let us consult him after lessons especially nearing the crucial exams, letting us do essays at home and giving it to him to mark so that we can get a good gauge of our ability and get a better idea of what we’re strong at and what we need to work on to improve. Sincere thanks once again to Mr Koh! I could not have done it without him undoubtedly.

Dear Mr Mike Wang,
Thank you for your guidance since J1. Through your lessons, I learnt to enjoy chemistry even more than I already did and became motivated to do better on the subject. Thank you for making your classes an interactive and fun learning place that challenges our thinking and processing, helping make all of us better at chemistry. From the start where there were only 2 of us in J1 to the end where we had a class of close to 20 in J2, I enjoyed myself very much in your lessons.

Dear Mr Sng,
You have been a wonderful teacher who pushed me to keep moving forward. Even with questions that stumped the whole class, you would still encourage us to give it our best and keep trying. Whenever we made mistakes, you would hit the nail on the head and accurately address our misconceptions. (To this day it amazes me how fast you can spot errors in my upside down chicken scrawl workings.) I’m really grateful for all that you have done for me and it has really made a difference for me in my As.
Thank you, Mr Sng!
